In the eighties, the French company Durisotti presented a prototype of a multipurpose vehicle based on the R5 and inspired by the Matra-Simca "Rancho" model.
This project did not succeed and it seems that only one prototype unit was made.
However, the concept survived and seem to became reality during the R5's second phase (or Super 5) when the "Renault Express/Rapid" model was launched.
