And what about the future?

Does the stylistic legacy of the R5 will survive and reappear again now, when cars seem to have been designed by computers "graduated from the same school" ?

Given some revivalist trend who has led brands to produce modern designs inspired by the lines of some of its most charismatic older models, it may turn out that Renault take advantage of the R5's charisma to give life to a modern version of this model.
Attending to the study whose image is below, it seems that Renault is aware of this trend and may even be that this study will become reality soon.

Let's wait and see.

 

And... what about an electric Renault 5?

In January 2021, another prototype of an electric vehicle project based on the "old" Renault 5 was released. More information about this prototype can be found here (portuguese language).

Finally, at the end of 2024, the final version of the long-awaited Renault 5 Electric was launched and orders opened.
