Portuguese roads in 1984

In 1984 (manufacture's year of my two R5's), the Portuguese roads scenery was not very good and can be remembered through this ACP (Automobile Club of Portugal) road map. At the time, there were almost no motorways in Portugal.
Of a long ago promised Lisboa-Porto motorway (A1), only three small sections had been built: Lisboa-Aveiras de Cima (46.6 km in 1980), Condeixa-Mealhada (27.6 km in 1982) and Porto- Stª Mª da Feira (54.7 km in 1983).
To the south, after the opening of the bridge over the Tagus River (now named "April 25th Bridge") connecting Lisboa to Almada, and the short section of motorway (A2) from Almada to Fogueteiro (8.9 km), both opened in 1966, only in 1978 was opened another section of this motorway connecting Fogueteiro to Setúbal (27 km).
Now the scenery is a lot better, with several motorways connecting the main cities (despite a small drawback... almost all of them are not toll free).
